I believe that lower dosage methadone like 10mg per day will not adversly effect tolerance enough to prevent usage of breakthrough pain medication like Roxicodone or Hydromorphone.

Regular strenght vicodin is 5mg, if that is what you were taking then the amount is not too unusual but obviouly it was time to look for somethng else. As LORTAB is, I travel 150 miles to see this doctor because I can't find one in this area that treats my condition with narcotics. Vicodin and Lortab are identical. I'm suggesting the drug companies themselves put more of their resources into educating the docs on their products, (yes I know they do this to an extent, now) not try to sell them directly to the consumer with the doc as a middleman of sorts.
